Value Load: A Tragedy of the Commons

Audrey Nicoll

January 11 - February 8, 2008

Opening Reception at 7:00 pm, Friday January 11

This series features Nicoll’s hauntingly beautiful and moving mixed media works on paper. Of this work, the Lunenburg country artist says “Value Load evolved out of unease with the economic disparity within my community and led me to research the economic and social implications of resource depletion.” Value Load is an exhibition not to be missed.

Through Our Eyes

Selections by Cape Breton University Art Gallery Docents

January 11 – February 8, 2008

Opening Reception at 7:00 pm, Friday January 11

A first at Cape Breton University Art Gallery! The docents, who volunteer their time and lend their energy to help the gallery operate, have spent the last three months selecting pieces from the permanent collection that they particularly enjoyed or wished to learn more about. After sifting through the storage room and the vault, making curatorial decisions, conducting research, and preparing statements about their choices, seven dedicated docents have curated an exhibition they wish to share with you. Please join us to celebrate their first exhibition!
