The Minas Basin: Elements of Light
April 25 – May 23, 2008
opening reception at 7:00 pm, Friday April 25
artist’s talk May 10, 1:00 pm
Pinhole photography captures the dazzling beauty of Nova Scotia’s Minas Basin in this exhibition. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Geri Nolan-Hilfiker is a photographer with an eye for experimentation. Geri believes that pinhole photographs express an aura of pure light. Of working with pinhole cameras the artist says, “Without a viewfinder to compose the image one needs to trust what the camera will see on their behalf. Working with a pinhole camera is as close to drawing with light as you can get.” ____________________________________________________________________
