No Romance

Hello All,
I would like to let everyone know that Romancing the Gallery which was to be held on February 12, 2006 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm has been cancelled. A lack of advance ticket sales dictated to the organizing committee that the event should not go ahead as planned. Thanks to those of you who had already bought tickets and those who were looking forward to supporting the Gallery. Payments made by VISA/Mastercard have not been processed and cheques have not been deposited. For those who paid by cash, you may pick up your payment in the Art Gallery.
Although Romancing has been cancelled, you may look forward to a gala event in autumn.

UPDATE #7

Hello,
Happy February 1st! It's a storm day here in Sydney, Nova Scotia, so I actually have some time to update the Art Gallery Blog.
This Friday night at 7:00 pm, two exhibitions are opening: The 10th Annual Student, Faculty, Staff & Alumni Art Exhibition and Drawing on Permanent Collection. Yesterday, the former was featured on CTV's Live at Five! Alumnus Lynda Lou MacIntyre, students Shayna George and Julia MacPherson (artists), and myself were interviewed by Marc Hudon. Ian MacNeil from CBC Radio was also out to speak to these participants and myself. This should be a great opening.
Also, our reading room is almost ready to open officially on February 10th. It's looking pretty good, if i say so myself!
Tickets are out for Romancing the Gallery ($35 each) and can be purchased by phoning the Art Gallery or the Boardmore Playhouse Box Office. They can be paid for with VISA/Mastercard, cheque, or cash. You can pick up your tickets in advance (preferred!) or at the door. This is going to be a wonderful event in support of the Art Gallery and the jazz concert promises to be the highlight of the afternoon (February 12, 2:00 to 5:00); award winning musicians Jamie Gatti, Chris Mitchell, Sylvio Pupo, and Tom Roach will perform. Chocolates and wine will be served, and a live art auction, recent acquisitions, and lots of romance await you before the concert begins.
