UPDATE #5

Hello All!

The holiday season is in the air, along with a few flurries!
If you are looking for a wonderful exhibition to check out (with the possibility of finding potential gifts), you simply MUST see Close In, Far Out. The Art Gallery is delighted to present well-known St. Ann's Bay artist Deanie Cox as guest curator for our latest exhibition. Cox has collected work from nine other artists from the beautiful Artisan's Loop area andwill exhibit these pieces - along with her own work- from December 9, 2005 to January 20, 2006. Many of these works have been created specifically for this exhibition, which will feature both functional objects and imaginative art. This is an exhibition not to be missed.
The opening reception for Close In, Far Out is December 9th at 7:00 pm (pictures will be posted in the new year).

Also happening in the gallery...
Plans are underway for the 10th Annual SFSA Exhibition (Student, Faculty, Staff & Alumni). This exhibition will be held from February 3 - March 10, 2006 alongside Drawing on the Permanent Collection. Not only can the artists in our midst submit artwork for the exhibition, they can also send in designs for posters & invitations!! Designs will be accepted until January 6, artwork until January 25.
Interested artists and the people who love them are welcome to drop into the Gallery for submission forms for artwork and may contact the Art Gallery at 563-1342 or suzanne_crowdis@capebretonu.ca for more information about the exhibition, posters, invites, or anything else!
